Known to its inhabitants as the “Land of the Long White Cloud”, New Zealand is one of the best-kept secrets of the Southern Hemisphere. Or the world, for that matter. Pure and unspoiled, and unpolluted, with four times as many sheep as people, and full of natural wonderments, this country imbues visitors with a sense of complete relaxation and timelessness.
My family and I explored NZ in our tiny three person campervan for an entire month, cooking our own meals and living very simply. Having brought along just the most essential luggage, I soon began to yearn for certain “Indispensible Travel Accessories”, such as a cheese grater, lip balm and earplugs. These sketches will surely help me remember to pack them for the next adventure!
Our trip to New Zealand was an amazing and very inspiring journey, and I'm so happy to have these illustrated journals to remind us of our special times together.
